READING WORKSHEETS AND MATHS WORKSHEETS

Worksheets should be FUN, not work. I think they should be renamed Funsheets! Seriously, the longer we Homeschool the more I'm understanding how important worksheets are as a Homeschool Resource. No matter what curriculum we're using, our children need to practise, practise, practise. Specially Reading Worksheets and Maths Worksheets.
I've found that our children need to practice their skills as they are learned. Many times! The only way they'll fully understand each step is by practicing it over and over again. Soecifically their Maths skills.

I've been looking for Worksheets that have the right content. The Worksheets also need to be printed in a large font, otherwise I've found my kids aren't interested.

So at the end of the day, and a long rather unrewarding search, I've started making them myself. Now worksheets to me don't only mean rows of numbers or letters. What I've found with my kids, is that they enjoy a fun activity far more than a straight forward worksheet. Because of this our Worksheets have been made into Funsheets. Our Homeschool Journey is still a new site, and I'll be uploading free worksheets every few days, so if you can't find what you want please come back in a few days!

The FREE MATHS WORKSHEETS are sheets of sums, number bonds, number patterns, place value etc. They're divided into Grade, with an example of each one so that you can see what you're getting before you download it. On each worksheet, there is a small black and white picture to be coloured in when the worksheet is completed. I've found the pictures help to break up the lessons, without having to take an actual break. My kids usually just take a few minutes to run around or get a drink. This gives me time to get the next lesson ready on the Homeschool table!

We have some extra special FREE MATHS WORKSHEETS that are mainly multiplication using dot to dot. This means a dot to dot picture activity, but instead of following numbers 1,2,3 etc, I've put them together as multiplication tables. For example the 2 times table would be, 2, 4, 6, 8 etc. This is a very helpful tool that can be used over and over again. There are also a few basic counting worksheets, for example, 1, 2, 3 and 10, 20, 30 and 100, 200, 300 and so we go on. This is where we'll introduce you to Hissston our Maths Snake! COMING SOON!

The Free Reading Worksheets are basic Grade 1 and 2 phonics excerises, teaching the sound and spelling of letters. Then we have Grade 3 phonics worksheets, teaching the long Vowel Sounds. There are also dot to dot activities, teaching the alphabet. For example you follow the pictures using the alphabet, A, B, C, D etc. For Grade 3 children we have a number of wordsearch puzzles, these have a black and white picture at the top to colour in, and are all themed. An example would be "Things we find in the Garden". Wordsearch, is a fantastic Homeschool Resource that I've used to build Vocabulary, and teach correct spelling.

All our FREE WORKSHEETS are in PDF format and are quick and easy to download. You can download them as many times as you like.
